Our Programs
Silhouette Island Sanctuary’s Volunteer Program offers exciting, hands-on and learning opportunities to work with exotic animals and be a part of something meaningful. Whether you want to help directly with the animals, assist in creative projects or bring energy to our events, there’s a place for you!
Exotic V-Care
This program is the heart of our sanctuary and so essential to offering a hands-on experience with our exotics. Daily responsibilities include animal care tasks such as nutrition, feeding, cleaning enclosures, and inspecting habitats. You will also monitor the animals well being, update enrichment activities to keep them engaged, and ensure they are happy, healthy, and loved. Dedication is crucial, as these animals rely on us for their care.
Special Project V-Care
Special project volunteers at our sanctuary are unique in many ways because they are helping us support amazing habitats for our exotics. These individuals have special skills, such as welders, electricians, carpenters, and so forth, which is always needed within the sanctuary all throughout the year.
Special Event V-Care
Event volunteers help with events throughout the year. You will also provide hospitality & information to our guests. Assist with activities and help with setting up events. This position requires flexibility, enthusiasm and a love for caring for people. We want all of our guests that visit Silhouette Island Sanctuary to have a once in a lifetime experience.
V-Care Ambassador
You will have an active role in senior leading & training all, as well as communicating with guests. Must be dedicated and knowledgeable about our exotics natural history and wildlife conservation. You will be in charge of giving tours around the island, educating, answering questions and raising awareness to all.
